Craig S. Campbell, 52, died May 22, 2014 in Cheyenne.
He was born to Richard Campbell and Suzanne Knepple on February 9, 1962 in Ismir, Turkey. He grew up in a military family, moving to Cheyenne from San Diego, California in 1970. He had a passion for racing, racing street stock and mini stock cars at Big County Speedway. He was a member of the Wyoming Auto Racing Club and the Southern Wyoming Dart Association. He loved Nascar and anything to do with racing. He is remembered as #81, and was nicknamed “Crazy Cooter”.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Richard & Lorraine (Houchen) Campbell; brothers Jeff Campbell (Cheryl) and Tom R. Thomas (Shelly); sister Robin Baesler (Karl); niece Shauna Perkins (John); numerous other nieces and nephews; and an abundance of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Cremation has occurred at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. A celebration potluck will be held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Big Country Speedway. All friends and family are welcome to attend and bring a dish.
